With over 30 years of field experience in the oil and gas business, we have assembled from concept to drilling and production over three thousand square miles of South Louisiana and Texas 3-D programs. Currently, we are coordinating the drilling and production of several South Louisiana wells. 
 
Our company interfaces with legal, G&G, engineering, and production personnel.  Currently, we are managing the acquisition of mineral interests in several Central and Southern Louisiana parishes.
 
Our legal department is incorporated within our Lafayette Office and served by Michael L. Schilling Jr. and Associates.
 

Louis "Eddie” Bernard, Jr.

Managing Member

Graduate of the University of Southwestern Louisiana (USL) now the University of Louisiana Lafayette (ULL) with a Bachelor of Science, 1981, with continuing business studies.

In 2000, he started Saur Minerals, L.L.C. This privately owned entity was originally structured to acquire and manage onshore South Louisiana oil and gas properties. Saur Minerals, L.L.C. and its partners have assembled over the past 20 years, over 3000 square miles of acreage acquisitions in South and Central Louisiana. The mineral interests we are now pursuing are in particular, inthe Frio through and including Tertiary and Cretaceous sections.  Saur Minerals, L.L.C., is currently involved in 3-D seismic shoots in Lafayette, Calcasieu, Jefferson Davis, Beauregard, Allen, Evangeline, St. Landry, and St. Martin Parishes.

Richard G. Landry    

Senior Explorationist /Geologist

Richard G. Landry is an independent consulting geologist and president of Landel Professional Services, which he started in 1999. Richard received a Bachelor of Science in Geology in 1978 and a Master of Science in Geology in 1980, from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (USL/ ULL). Richard started with Sun Gas Company in 1980 and worked for several companies including Cotton Petroleum, Vermilion Exploration, BAC Energy, Diversified Energy, and Saur Minerals. Richard has worked for 30 years exclusively in the Gulf Coast area of South Louisiana and Southeast Texas.

He has a working knowledge of bringing a 3-D seismic project from an idea to a sound geological project using subsurface mapping and 2-D. Richard has been involved in numerous 3-D projects in Texas and Louisiana, the most recent being in St. Landry Parish, La., where data is being acquired as of April 2014. He has also become proficient at leasing, permitting, titling, and interpreting 3-D seismic during his career.

Michael Lester Schilling, Jr.

President of  Land/ Legal

Graduated with a  Bachelor of Arts, Psychology, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana May 1971 and Juris Doctor, Paul M. Hebert, Law Center, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, May 1980.  Upon graduating from law school entered into private practice in Abbeville, Louisiana with Richard J. Putnam, Jr. and Darrel J. Hartman, with a major emphasis on general practice working private, corporate, and government sections.

In October 1996, he became the manager of the Title Division of Bernard Chiasson & Associates, a Land Management Firm. In February 1998, he opened Michael L. Schilling, Jr. & Associates.  Areas of practice include oil and gas law, corporate and real estate.  The majority of practice involved rendering oil, gas, and mineral title opinions, and preparing joint operating agreements, participation agreements, and other contracts regarding the exploration of minerals.  Since 2000, his firm has served as in-house counsel for Saur Minerals, LLC, representing it in all phases of its operations.

 
Sarah Haynes
 
Executive Manager of Projects/ Landman
 
Sarah graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in General Studies with a Minor in Business.  She has worked with the Saur Minerals team since 2015. During that time she has done landman work in both Louisiana and Texas.
